National Library registration is available to anyone residing in Australia. Library cards are valid for two years. Having a National Library library card allows you to access a selection of licensed databases over the Internet, via the Library's eResources homepage [nla.gov.au/app/eresources/list/licenced].

American National Biography
- portraits of more than 18,000 men and women, from all eras and walks of life, who have made an impact on the American nation.
Biography Resource Center - biographies from over 880 volumes of more than 135 Gale Group sources
Encyclopaedia Britannica Online - full text of Encyclopaedia Britannica plus links to related web sites.
Factiva [Australian and Overseas Newspapers] - full text coverage of Australian and overseas newspapers and journals.
Gale Virtual Reference Library - encyclopedias, almanacs and specialised reference sources for multidisciplinary research.
JSTOR - important scholarly journals. There is a gap, typically from 1 to 5 years, between the most recently published journal issue and the back issues available in JSTOR.
